Are you certain you need a Building Permit?
Permits are required when there is:
- new construction to a building or some repair work or alterations to an existing structure, or
- when a building is to be remodeled, renovated, or enlarged.
"New work" means any new construction, commercial or residential, from vacant ground to a completed new structure.
Permits are
not needed for cosmetic work such as
- general maintenance,
- painting, wallpapering, or carpeting,
