General Information
A permit is required for the installation of any solar photovoltaic system that ties into the electrical supply grid.

Submittal requirements
  • Permit/Plan Review Application
  • (2) Copies of a Site Plan showing the location of the system on the roof or yard.
  • Standard plans stamped by a registered State of Arizona engineer or architect.
All components listed above must be submitted with the Building Permit Application. Application packages must be completed and submitted to the City Hall front counter at 12145 NW Grand Ave, El Mirage, Arizona 85335. Fees are based on the valuation of the project and are due at time of permit issuance.


  • Rough- structural attachments, equipment installation, grounding and bonding.
  • Final- warning signage, electrical clearance
An inspection will be required upon completion of each part of the work. The inspection request line number is 623-876-2979. This is an automated line that is available 24 hours a day. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Any inspection called in before 4:00 p.m. will be made the next business day.
